Teofilo Aylas

"I was born on November 3, 1967. I am an artisan trained in ceramics, in an autochthonous manner, and over time I have come to take courses in various locales. I've been working for five years now with these ceramics, and what motivates me the most are the villages of the Andes, their landscapes, and their customs. I always carry them with me without forgetting that I too come from these lands. Nowadays I am in a position to help others who like me, come from lower social strata. I hope that together we find success."

Aylas shapes his designs by hand and fires them at 1,472º F. Once cool, he paints each one by hand with latex pigments.
